Janelle Monáe dropped by The Arsenio Hall Show last night to perform the title track from her recent LP The Electric Lady. Backed by a full band, she sang a stellar, high-energy rendition of the tune. In an age where popular artists lip-synching their songs to a pre-recorded backing track is the standard, is nice to see that Monáe still has live flair and spontaneity.
She also sat down briefly with Arsenio to chat about the lyrics to "Dorothy Dandridge Eyes." She even sang a verse a cappella. Watch below.
The Electric Lady was released September 10th, and you can listen to the whole thing right here at Zumic. You can see her upcoming tour dates on her artist page.
