Italy's Fleshgod Apocalypse deliver symphonic metal goodness with their video for "Epilogue." The track comes from 2013's Labyrinth, a death metal opera that retells the ancient myth of Asterion, the minotaur of Knossos. Epic!
The song opens with a hypnotic classical guitar solo, then ruthlessly transitions without warning to all-out brutality. Soprano Veronica Bordacchini lends her operatic vocals to the verses and creates an unexpectedly beautiful dichotomy against the punishing music behind her. In the video, despite looking like they've been dead for a few weeks, the band deliver an energizing performance.
Fleshgod Apocalypse have come a long way since 2009's Oracles. They went from being just another technical death metal band in an over-saturated scene, to being one of the most respected groups of musicians in the metal community.
