Details have emerged regarding a tribute performance fronted by Eric Clapton for one of rock's greatest drummers, Ginger Baker, who passed away last month.
Eric Clapton & Friends: A Tribute to Ginger Baker is scheduled at London's Eventim Apollo on February 17, 2020. The artist lineup has not been set yet. According to Clapton's website, "The setlist for the concert will look to honor Baker’s lifetime in music and will, of course, include Clapton and Baker’s work together in Cream and Blind Faith." The special event will benefit Leonard Cheshire Disability, a non-profit charity organization helping people with disabilities to live independently.

Clapton hinted at the possibility of retiring from the road when he reached the age of 70 in a 2013 interview with Rolling Stone, and revealed in 2016 that he was suffering from peripheral neuropathy. Since then, he limited his number of shows significantly. Now 74-years-old, the guitar legend has been more active in 2019, adding arena dates and resuming his Crossroads Guitar Festival, as he looks toward continuing the momentum for at least another year. Clapton's bandmates currently include Doyle Bramhall II, Paul Carrack, Nathan East, Chris Stainton, Sharon White, and Katie Kissoon.
