The upcoming documentary Springsteen and I explores the life and music of Bruce Springsteen through the experiences and insights of his fans. The film, produced by Ridley Scott and directed by music video director Baillie Walsh, will be made up of only fan-submitted material, such as videos, photographs, and audio narration.
The film seeks to convey the special relationship that Springsteen seems to have with his fans. Everyone feels a personal connection with him, and every concert feels intimate, despite the tens of thousands of people present. Fans submitted their materials through the movie's website, and the resulting materials were edited together by Walsh and his team to make a full-length feature film. The materials include fan recordings of performances and personal stories of how Springsteen shaped their lives.
Springsteen and I hits theaters July 22.
