Kurt Vile's Wakin on a Pretty Daze is getting a deluxe edition reissue, which will feature a bonus EP entitled It's a Big World Out There (And I am Scared). Today, Matador Records shared a new song from the EP, "Feel My Pain."
Extending past the six minute mark, "Feel My Pain" finds Vile at his most meditative, accompanied only by a bare-bones electronic beat and his delicate finger-picking. It's quite a different formula than most of Wakin on a Pretty Daze, which featured a full band and more intricate arrangements. Instead, "Feel My Pain" hearkens back to the more homespun and intimate sound on Vile's 2011 album Smoke Ring for My Halo.
