'80s new wave band Flock Of Seagulls--who hit it big with the song "I Ran (So Far Away)"--have run into some bad luck lately. Their rented tour van, which contained equipment and digital files for a new album, was stolen after a show in southern California early Sunday morning. Frontman Mike Score told the Los Angeles Daily News that the van contained $70,000 worth of stage clothing and instruments, as well as the hard drives containing songs for his planned solo album.

The band was staying at a Comfort Inn in Downey, CA when the theft occurred at around 2am on Sunday. A hotel security camera caught the thieves on tape as they stole the van. You can take a look at the security video below.

No arrests have been made to date, but the Whittier Daily News reports that the van was found this morning in Santa Fe, CA, about a 6 hour drive from where it was taken. Unfortunately for the band, it was empty.

Despite the setbacks, the Flock has soldiered on. They played a show on Sunday using rented equipment and are currently touring in the UK.
