Did you ever feel like Lorde's "Royals" was following you around? Lurking around every corner, ready to leap out of any given speaker and attack? It seems like Weird Al Yankovic felt this way, and in his third of eight videos being released this week, Al does battle against the evil forces trying to control his mind.
Just when you thought it was safe to go have a nice picnic in the park, Al proves that all your paranoia is justified. His take on the omnipresent "Royals" could have been simple food rock -- in fact, it starts out that way -- but things take a sinister turn when Yankovic announces that he's figured out the code of the clandestine sects who run the world. He has a simple solution, however, and fortunately, he's already got a cooking show to share the information with the world. Foil! Just make a simple tinfoil hat and you'll be protected from surreptitious brainscans and rectal-probing aliens alike.
Yankovic teamed up with the folks at College Humor to produce the video. The clip sees guest star Patton Oswalt act as Al's floor manager, with an appearance from Reno 911's Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant as shadowy men in black suits -- doubtlessly sent from the headquarters of some nefarious cabal bent on world domination.
"Foil" lives on Weird Al's brand new LP, Mandatory Fun, which you can pick up via Amazon. To celebrate the release of the record, Yankovic is releasing 8 videos over the course of 8 days, so be sure to watch the already released clips for "Tacky" and "Word Crimes."
