The Magpie Salute, featuring three members from The Black Crowes, have shared another song from their upcoming album High Water. Listen to "For The Wind" above, via YouTube.
Beginning with acoustic guitar, the track sets a mellow vibe accompanied by piano and light drumming. At the one-minute mark, the song transforms into a rocker with a heavy groove. Guitarist Rich Robinson spoke about the tune in an interview with Billboard:
That's an old song that I had but could never fit it anywhere... That was the only song that I brought to the table musically that was finished; John (Hogg) wrote the lyrics, but this song was arranged and solid. There were certain things I tweaked over the years, but it never really worked in the other contexts I was in. But I played it for everyone, and they loved it. And just to hear that song come to fruition after years of having it is great.
High Water was produced in Nashville with Robinson at the helm, and is scheduled to be released on August 10, 2018. Pick it up on Amazon. Last month, the band shared the first single "Send Me An Omen."
The Magpie Salute have concerts scheduled later this year with Gov't Mule, the Avett Brothers, and Blackberry Smoke. For concert tickets and more, check out The Magpie Salute's Zumic artist page.
