Young Atlanta rapper Raury has just released a fresh new gem titled "Forbidden Knowledge," produced by Malay and featuring a verse by "King of the South" Big K.R.I.T.

The sound collage work in "Forbidden Knowledge" is as intelligent as the thought-provoking lyrics. Starting with an aggressive lo-fi kick drum, the track opens up into a world of dissonant jazz harmonies and overlapping musical textures such as a harp, acoustic guitar, and high synth droplets all mixed underneath the hazy, sampled chorus.

This 'unfolding' approach to the song's form and production only reinforces Raury's lyrics, "There's a universe in her afro, hold us back though power in the black folk, well that's forbidden knowledge."

Raury's debut album, All We Need is expected to drop on Oct. 16, 2015. You can pick up a copy on Amazon (CD, MP3). Stay tuned for our Zumic review + free album stream!
