Last month, Lady Antebellum released their fifth studio album, 747. The band is leaning towards a more pop-friendly sound in the record, which is most clear in the party tune "Freestyle." You can hear the pop influence in both the uptempo music and their spitfire lyrics. Make sure to listen closely to catch references to Macklemore, Fleetwood Mac, and Matthew McConaughey's popular character from the cult film Dazed and Confused.

The country trio discussed their new record with Radio.com. You can watch the full interview below.

Lady Antebellum Interview With Radio.com

In the interview, Lady Antebellum talks about the importance of changing their sound on 747. Frontwoman Hilary Scott comments:

The three of us as a band needed the change. It was fun. It felt most like the excitement we had when this all started. It felt so much like the first record and feeling like it was the first time again. We haven’t been in this industry very long, but in the eight years that we’ve been a band things can start to feel familiar. To have that excitement and that first time feeling again was very special.

Lady Antebellum's change in direction is clear in "Freestyle" with its infectious energy and fun lyrics. You can listen to the new tune above and stream the full album on Spotify.

You can order 747 on iTunes, Amazon, and their official website.
