Bad Boy rapper French Montana had to deny two things this week: 1. That he did not sign 9 year old rapper Lil' Poopy and 2. That he was not involved in a Philadelphia shooting.
Earlier this week Zumic reported the news that broke many music lovers hearts. This was the addition of a nine year old rapper named Lil' Poopy who reportedly signed with French Montana. Lil' Poopy's debut track called "Coke Ain't A Bad Word" dropped last week. Now French Montana is denying that he ever signed this protégé.
In an interview with Power 99 FM, when asked about whether or not he signed Lil' Poopy, Montana responded, "Nah man, Lil Poopy was never signed to Coke Boys. Lil Poopy was just, you know, sometimes you have a little kid that's around, he's jumping around, doing this and that...But nah, you know I'm not gonna put somebody nine-years-old on Coke Boys. Hell no. Nah. And if he was, I wouldn't tolerate no little kid, nine-years-old going around, doing all that. Nah. Yeah. So I never signed him. Nothing. Sometimes they'd come around the shows and I like the little kid, so he'd be around playing."
Now French Montana is denying his involvement in a Philadelphia shooting. The rapper performed at the Theater of Living Arts in Philadelphia Thursday night (February 28). That night a car pulled up to where his tour bus was parked and opened fire into the crowd. A young man was killed and another was hospitalized. According to Rolling Stone, investigators said someone from French Montana's crew may have fired back.
French Montana addressed the shooting via twitter saying "My bus was located in the vicinity of the incident that took plac last night in Philadelphia. I had a peaceful concert and was not involved". He also expressed his sympathy for those involved in the shooting, "My deepest thoughts and sympathies go out to the familiesof the victims, as well as all of those who were affected"
