As we alerted you last night, Daft Punk's official release of their first single from their upcoming Random Access Memories LP released today in the wee hours of the morning. After a confusing few days that saw leaked snippets, fraudulent remixes and, in turn, fake-outs of said leaks from Turkish Soundcloud pages that now don't exist, it is here now in its Radio Edit entirety. All I know is that I was informed that someone over at Sony lost their job over this. But, hey, what's that internet for if not to share privileged information with the world? Shout out to Julian Assange!
For real, though, this single is funky. Pharrell's voice alongside Daft Punk's patented robot voice makes for a great combo. Like all great Daft Punk songs, it strikes the perfect balance between the rigidity of a house beat with the swing of live instrumentation. Great song to cruise to on a nice day or to listen to watching the sun come up. Kinda makes me wish I still had a car.
