This, soon-to-be-club-hit is all Thicke. "Give It 2 U" just goes to show that Robin Thicke's brand of high-pitch, sex-themed electro-trance-soul music is all his own — and people like it.
Will.i.am produced this latest track which features the ever-rising rapper Kendrick Lamar. This isn't the kind of track one would usually associate with Lamar, but somehow his flow fits the beat perfectly.
It's strange to hear Lamar rap over such a poppy track, especially when he uses the same gunshot noise he does in his song "The Jig Is Up," a song about street violence, in between lines like "her pussy pop like" and "go gimme a burner/got shot like." But, in all fairness, it probably wasn't intentional.
Overall, Thicke's one liners and silky voice, as of now, can do no wrong. "Give It 2 U" will have your head bouncing to the beat, pun sort-of intended. Most of all, we're looking forward to the video. If the past is any indicator of the future, it could be quite scandalous.
