Cory Monteith, a Calgary native who plays Finn Hudson on Fox's hit show "Glee", was found dead Saturday in a Vancouver hotel. He was only 31. No cause of death has been given yet, however, an autopsy is scheduled for Monday. No foul play is suspected.

This news comes as a shock to family and friends, but may unfortunately be linked to his trips in and out of rehab. Monteith has been very vocal about his past issues with substance abuse, and has been dealing with the problem since about the age of 13. His first stint in rehab came at just 19, and he recently completed another.

Several of the shows cast members have already weighed in on this horrible tragedy via Twitter and other sources, while many others have chosen to remain silent. His girlfriend Lea Michele, and a "Glee" fan favorite, is among the latter.

With Monteith and several other powerful actors at the helm of the Fox favorite, "Glee" was not only able to become one of the most popular shows on TV, but broke one of the most respected records in modern music.

As the "Glee" cast tallied an immense 206 Hot 100 entries since the series' 2009 premiere, the troupe set the record for the most appearances, by far, in the chart's nearly 55-year history. In reaching its sum, the cast dethroned Elvis Presley, who had long held the record (108 Hot 100 hits). (Presley now ranks third, after the "Glee" cast and rapper Lil Wayne (119).

This tragic news deals a huge blow not only to the show, but to modern Hollywood. He was an incredibly talented actor who had a lot to give, and was sadly swept up in one of the most horrible issues facing today's young Hollywood, a life of drugs and too much fame too fast. Cory Monteith will be dearly missed.
