Well here's a weird one. Tyler, the Creator apparently wrote and directed the above music video, but no one's telling us whose song it is. The only things we know are the title, "Glowing," and the fact that Odd Future manager Christian Clancy introduced Tyler to the song nine months ago.
Even though Tyler's never been shy about discussing his eclectic musical tastes, "Glowing" is certainly outside his usually grimy comfort zone. The piano-led ballad could almost be a long-lost gem from '70s pop radio, with gooey vocal harmonies and strings gratuitously dolloped on top of melodies that would make Burt Bacharach proud.
The video's plot is also uncharacteristically warm for Tyler, telling the story of a couple whose love transcends time and survives numerous world crises. It's touching, and reminds us that Tyler isn't solely concerned with brashness and mischief, despite the annoyingly mysterious method by which he chose to unveil the "Glowing" video.
For something completely different, check out the video for Tyler's own "Tamale."
