Today, The Growlers have released a music video for "Good Advice," a song from their latest album, Chinese Fountain. Watch the YouTube video -- directed by Taylor Bonin and The Growlers -- above.
Lead singer Brooks Nielsen gives a sermon behind a pulpit before pulling out a wriggling snake. This is based off the serpent handling ritual performed at some churches in the Appalachian region. The song itself is steady garage rock jam with a deadpan chorus of "There's nothing as depressing as good advice." Altogether, the black and white filming, the uncanny ceremony, and the church goers' strange expressions make for a delightfully campy video.
Chinese Fountain is available on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3) and iTunes.
