This week, Elephant Stone shared their cover of "Into The Great Wide Open" on SoundCloud. Listen to the audio stream above.

For the song, Elephant Stone give Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers a psychedelic makeover and it sounds awesome. Mellow vocals, echoing bass, and a spacey keyboard part set the tonal change. The guitar part, especially right before the chorus, is what keeps the cover bound to the original. The neatest part of this track, though, is during the last verse when the rhythm section stops and a sitar briefly takes over the song. The Montreal band delivers an unexpected and delightful take on the classic song.

Elephant Stone's cover of "Into The Great Wide Open" is available on Amazon (MP3) and iTunes.
