Heartbreak can be beyond devastating for the people who are forced to deal with it.   In Ed Sheeran's new music video for "Happier," heartbreak even comes to puppets and balloons.

The touching video shows a puppet version of Sheeran reeling from a breakup. He numbs his pain with alcohol and cigarettes, and we even see him turning violent towards his ex's new fling. For the most part, the video is very well done but there are a few scenes that seem random and a little confusing.  There is an interesting balance between sentimental flashbacks of love and the pains of jealousy, giving the song and video real emotional depth.

In an interview with Spotify and Glamour Magazine, Sheeran shared the meaning behind the lyrics:

I’ve definitely got to a point in my life where I’m friends with all my ex-girlfriends now, like we’re all cool and it’s very much like I’m really happy that you’re happy and with someone that you love, and they are really happy that I’m happy and with someone and there’s a grown up element to it. "Happier" was like that coming out I guess - me writing a grown-up song.
