Exactly one week ago, The Naked and Famous released their newest single "Hearts Like Ours." Today the New Zealand group released the video for the new song, which will be on their upcoming album, In Rolling Waves.
The Campbell Hooper directed video follows a group of young, beautiful hipsters through woods, and some, literally, hazy moments in the hills of Los Angeles and New Zealand.
The video is more like a stream of loosely connected images than a video, but maybe that's because it tries to depict a metaphor rather than a story line. With countless shots of chests, and a few moments dedicated to a man bathed in red light, rhythmically punching a wall, we start to get the feeling that we're not actually watching a bunch of 20 somethings being angsty, we are watching a body in motion — breath moving in and out, nerves twitching, a heart beating, breath being taken away.
Take a look at the video for yourself above. See if you can make some sense of the swirl of bodies and haze.
The Naked and Famous' sophomore album In Rolling Waves will be out on September 16th via Fiction Records.
