Suicide Squad is the third installment in the DC Extended Universe, a fictional universe based around characters from DC Comics. The "Heathens" music video features some clips from the movie, including scenes with actors Will Smith and Margot Robbie. It also shows Twenty One Pilots band members Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun in the DC Extended Universe, locked up in an insane asylum.

This is the band's first new music release since their 2015 album, Blurryface. The song offers a unique beat, with a mixture of electronics and percussion. Vocalist Tyler Joseph's voice is eerie, yet intriguing throughout the tune. Some fans believe that the lyrics have something to do with Twenty One Pilots' fanbase, known as the Skeleton Clique, and their attitude toward new fans.

The Suicide Squad film and soundtrack are set to release on August 5. Other featured artists include Panic! At the Disco, Skrillex, and Eminem. You can pick up Suicide Squad: The Album on Amazon.
