Just before opening day of the World Cup and one month after she premiered the official video for "Heroes" -- as part of Pepsi's "visual soundtrack," Pespi Beats of the Beautiful Game -- Janelle Monáe performed the David Bowie cover on The Late Show with David Letterman. Check out her energetic performance above, via YouTube.
Monáe was clad in her signature black and white tuxedo as she delivered a pumped up, electric version of Bowie's 1977 classic. The Electric Lady certainly knows how to make use of a stage, as she bounced around in the very James Brown-fashion she's become known for. Ultimately, it was a great, fun-filled tribute to David Bowie and to the nations of the world as they begin to compete in the World Cup.
Pepsi Beats of the Beautiful Game features artists like Santigold, Rita Ora, Timbaland, and more. It is now available for download on iTunes and Amazon. For Janelle Monáe's latest music, news, and videos, check out her Zumic artist page.
