Mount Kimbie just premiered a video for "Home Recording," a track off their sophomore record, Cold Spring Fault Less Youth. The video is surreal and reflective, bringing the outdoors in as people stare ahead, lost in their thoughts. As these lonely people rest in their homes and sometimes gaze out their windows, cold winter trees and bright city lights reflect over them. It's an evocative, serene visual, and it complements the song perfectly.
The video was directed by Anthony Dickenson. As band member Kai Campos described to Rolling Stone:
We were excited by Anthony Dickenson's enthusiasm for trying a new technique in merging shots to create something that was bigger than the locations it was shot in. [It's] a multi-dimensional landscape with no direct reference to a specific place – more a familiar but fictional reality.
"Home Recording" comes from Mount Kimbie's recently released album, Cold Spring Fault Less Youth. You can buy it on iTunes now. You can also see Mount Kimbie on tour this September and October. Dates and tickets are on the group's official website.
