The Hold Steady are midway through their summer tour and they stopped by Conan last night on their way through Burbank.

The band pulled out "I Hope This Whole Thing Didn't Frighten You," the lead track from their latest album, Teeth Dreams. The live version had a raw edge, with frontman Craig Finn thrashing about and snarling out lines about hometown history. The band's impassioned performance seemed like a more natural take than the polished studio version, with ringing guitars and pummeling drums. Check it out above.

Teeth Dreams came out in March of this year. You can order it via Amazon or stream it for free right here at Zumic. For more music, news, videos, and tour dates from The Hold Steady, check out their Zumic artist page.
