Austin indie outfit Spoon has released a music video for the song "I Ain't The One," which originally premiered as part of the group's 2017 release Hot Thoughts. Check out the clip above, courtesy of the artist's YouTube channel.
Accompanied by glassy keyboards, sparse synth embellishments, and episodic percussion, Britt Daniels cries earnestly in self-effacement. Attempting to dodge any semblance of responsibility, Daniels sings "When the world comes crashing, crumbling on me, When the day comes knocking, knocking on me, I say, I ain't the one."
Directed by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, the film stages the band in a dim landscape punctuated by exit signs, escalators, and moving walkways, complementing the glum tenor of the music.
