Yesterday, G-Eazy appeared on Shade 45's Sway in the Morning and premiered the remix to his recent single "I Mean it," featuring Rick Ross. Like the original song, the remix has the electrifying chorus from Remo, who produced both tracks. "I Mean It" comes off of G-Eazy's June 23rd studio album, These Things Happen.
G-Eazy took the second verse on the original track, but used it as the first verse on the remix. While his vocals sound disinterested at times, lyrically it's a quality verse. The Oakland rapper's style is unique, and he has accumulated a huge following over the past few years, while remaining independent.
Ricky Rozay gives a passionate verse that contrasts well with G-Eazy's. Ross is one of the more under-appreciated lyricists in hip hop right now. With his recognizable booming voice, he paints pictures of glorious trips to Atlanta, Las Vegas, and Paris.
Scoring a Rick Ross feature as an independent artist is a testament to G-Eazy's hard work. There was also a A$AP Ferg feature on These Things Happen. G-Eazy has been on the scene since 2007, but as of late, it seems like he's making moves.
