Boston hardcore legends Slapshot put out a new self-titled album in 2014, and now the band have shared a video for the track "I Told You So." Ian McFarland, the video's director, had this to say about the clip:

We shot the video in 3 hrs on Canon 7D with a shoe string budget and had a blast doing so. The goal was simple, to make a music video that was raw, gritty and in your face. We wanted to make a punk rock and hardcore music video. Enjoy.

The DIY spirit of punk and hardcore comes through loud and clear in the simple music video. The whole clip is shot using fixed POV cameras while the band plays in a small space. The close up, intimate shots put the viewer smack dab in the middle of the chaos. Frontman Jack "Choke" Kelly's unbroken gaze is enough to make the toughest tough guy reevaluate his own toughness.

Slapshot have been doling out their brand of punishing hardcore music since 1985, so it's always a revelation to see a classic band, not only still making music, but making music that gets better with each release.

Go pick up Slapshot's self-titled LP on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3) or iTunes.
