Brittney Bouchard's "I Will Be Yours" is the sixth and final selection of Zumic's ReverbNation contest. The pop / folk sound is of the ilk of bands like Of Monsters of Men and The Lumineers. It's refreshing to hear a solo female vocalist's take on this style, and it makes for a beautiful listen. The Orlando native has a pure voice and a ton of potential.
The song opens up with a slow verse, which seems to get stronger as it progresses. That leads to the highlight of the song: the showstopping chorus. The "Woah-ohh-ohh-ohh-ohhhs" and "Ooo-ooo-ooo-oooos" in the background make the hook highly catchy. The song has an interesting story. It's about telling a lover to stop being so overbearing. If the narrator has some breathing room, the two will eventually be together. Bouchard does an excellent job of being succinct, conveying a message over two short verses and a chorus. The feel-good track is relatable, aurally pleasing, and has hit potential.
