Two weeks ago, Smith Westerns released "Idol" as a teaser track from their then-unreleased album, Soft Will. Today, the Chicago-based band has given us a lo-fi VHS-themed music video for the track, directed by Sandy Kim. The video's narrative focuses on the sullen-faced trio as they sit around a table. A group of youngsters indulge in general partying and merrymaking while the trio remain contemplatively seated, practically motionless save for the lead vocalist's lip-syncing. This may look familiar for those who have seen the music video for The Ramones' "I Wanna Be Sedated".
