Iggy Azalea has dropped a new perfectly timed single called "Iggy SZN." Listen to the leaked audio and catch the lyrics above.
Following an onslaught of insults and threats from Snoop Dogg on Instagram last week, as well as additional threats of divorce (she claims she was never married) and a leaked sex tape from an ex-boyfriend, Azalea has taken the high road and come out smelling pretty good.
As she raps, "Simmer down bitch, it's Iggy season" it appears she has good perspective on her new found fame and the excitement (and hate) that surrounds her. The beat is hot, and her rhymes are solid. It's got a "Harlem Shake" vibe, meshing modern electronic dance music with dancehall reggae. At the middle of the track, she even mimicks a Jamaican accent, which will continue criticism for cultural appropriation, but as she says in the song, she'll pay no mind as she continues making big bucks as a legitimate star in pop music.
This newest song is serving as the leadoff single to her upcoming November album release, Reclassified, which expands upon her album released earlier in 2014, The New Classic. Also, stay tuned for her to be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live in just 2 days (October 25th).
