Back in July, independent rapper Hopsin released the controversial "Ill Mind of Hopsin 7," the latest installment to his Ill Mind of Hopsin saga. His upcoming album Pound Syndrome will be released sometime in 2015. He has yet to reveal a release date.
This is probably the deepest song the LA rapper has ever wrote. Surely, it is more introspective then "Ill Mind" 1 through 6. Hopsin raps about his religious views and falling out of God's grace. In the video, he walks shirtless through a desert passionately asking questions he cannot get the answers to. He raps, "Man what if Jesus was a facade? / Then that would mean the government’s God / I feel like they’ve been brainwashing us with a lot / So much that we don’t even notice that we’re stuck in the box."
Clearly, Hopsin is struggling with his religious beliefs and wants to break free from his spiritual shackles. Towards the end of the song, he shouts, "I’m fucking done! I’m fucking done! / This is my fucking life and I’m living it, I’m having fun!"
