Minimalist indie rock band Low have released a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "I'm on Fire." Listen above.

The trio will be featured on a compilation album entitled Dead Man's Town: A Tribute to Born in the U.S.A., which pays homage to Springsteen's 1984 album. The album will also feature covers by Jason Isbell & Amanda Shires, Nicole Atkins, Justin Townes Earle, Blitzen Trapper, and some others. See the full tracklist down below. Listen to Jason Isbell & Amanda Shires' "Born in the U.S.A." cover here on Zumic.

Even more stripped down than the original, Low's version of "I'm on Fire" is haunting and beautiful. The guitars are heavier, the vocals softer and layered, and there's piano instead of synth. There are also some angelic, female background vocals ooh-ing through to the ending.

The Boss himself recently released an EP called American Beauty back in April for Record Store Day. Stream one of the tracks and read all about it here on Zumic. For more Bruce Springsteen, check out his Zumic artist page.

Dead Man's Town is out September 16th via Lightning Rod Records.
