Today, Memphis rockers Lucero have shared their breezy cover of Big Star's "I'm In Love With A Girl." The track, recorded at the same Memphis studio where Big Star originally recorded the song in 1974, will appear on Lucero's upcoming album, All A Man Should Do. Listen to it above.

The acoustic-driven tune features Alex Chilton on guitar and vocals. Keyboards, drums, and backing harmonies from Big Star’s Jody Stephens, Jon Auer, and Ken Stringfellow help to fill out the song and give it an easy going feel like the original version.

Chilton told WSJ what it was like to record "I'm In Love With A Girl" with members of Big Star:

It’s pretty wild recording a Big Star song with members of Big Star at Ardent Studios, where Big Star recorded. We were like little kids in the studio, in the control room watching them out there on the floor singing harmonies.

Other new tracks the band has shared include "Can't You Hear Them Howl" and "Went Looking for Warren Zevon’s Los Angeles."

Pick up All A Man Should Do on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3). It's scheduled for a September 18, 2015 release.
