Next week, The Velvet Underground's White Light/White Heat will be reissued to commemorate its 40th anniversary. This new "Super Deluxe" edition includes mono and stereo versions of the album, as well as an unreleased live recording of the band playing at the Gymnasium in New York City on April 30, 1967. One of the seven tracks from that concert, "I'm Not a Young Man Anymore," has never appeared on anything else released by the Velvets, and is now available to stream on SoundCloud.

The song provides great insight as to what a Velvet Underground concert must have been like, containing a lengthy jam session and more distortion than anyone had likely heard at that point in '67. The late Lou Reed eerily sings the song's title while the rest of the band creates some sort of fusion between blues and surf rock, which is intriguing to say the least. The song's mix isn't stellar, with drastic shifts in volume occurring at a few points, but hey, it's not every day that you get a new Velvet Underground song.

Preorder the Super Deluxe version of White Light/White Heat on Amazon, and check out the reissue's tracklist below.
