Echo and The Bunnymen recently appeared on NME's Basement Sessions and played an acoustic cover of The Velvet Underground's "I'm Waiting For The Man."
Ian McCulloch introduces the track with a slightly rambling introduction, including a fumbled mention of the session's Jägermeister sponsership, but it's smooth sailing from there. The stripped-down version of the track features the band as a three-piece, with McCulloch doing an impressive take on the Lou Reed classic. The original, featured on 1967's The Velvet Underground and Nico, has a bit more electric edge to it, but The Bunnymen keep the pacing and the tone almost identical. Check out video of the performance above.
Echo & The Bunnymen just released Meteorites, their twelfth studio album, and you can purchase it via Amazon.
