From his birth, Cody ChesnuTT has been the greatest. Or so he declares in his song "I've Been Life" from his latest album Landing On A Hundred.
ChesnuTT released the video for the song yesterday, which is a fun and uplifting celebration of heritage and place. In it, warriors and dancers dressed up in costumes run on stilts, walk through the city streets, represent the colors of their homes, and, more importantly, dance as one.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, ChesnuTT comments on the video saying, "There's a fresh, creative energy and rising consciousness on the African continent and throughout the diaspora. 'I've Been Life' is one of the many ways in which I hope to make a healthy contribution to this promising movement."
Take a look at the video above and, if you liked it, you can catch ChesnuTT on tour. ChesnuTT is in Eurpoe now, but he will be back in the U.S. on August 8th for shows beginning in Dallas, Texas and ending in Pensacola, Florida in October.
