3rd times a charm, as J. Cole would say. On Twitter, the rapper announced that the Dollar & a Dream Tour will hit four cities later this month, featuring his 2010 mixtape Friday Night Lights in its entirety. Dreamville artists Bas, Cozz, and Omen are also scheduled to appear.
In anticipation of the third Dollar & a Dream Tour, footage from last year's sold out Dollar & a Dream Tour II: The Wrap Up was released yesterday. Watch below via YouTube.
As in the past, J. Cole will perform a series of pop-up concerts at $1 per person distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Last year's tour, reminiscing the 2009 mixtape The Warm Up, was a major success, attracting fans from various parts of the nation.
In the mini-documentary, many dedicated fans are seen eagerly waiting through harsh weather conditions and long hours for the chance to see J. Cole live. Along with sets of J. Cole performing some of his earlier music, the video also features cameos from Drake doing "0 to 100” and Kendrick Lamar talking backstage about the importance of the core fans.
The dates and locations are as follows:
Dallas, TX -- June 21, 2015
New York, NY -- June 22, 2015
Atlanta, GA -- June 24, 2015
