Last night, Janelle Monáe posted a link on her Facebook page with the accompanying message: "To my Anaheim, San Diego, and Phoenix supporters, Pls read." The link takes you to Monáe's website, where she announced that she's postponed three dates on her current tour due to "strict doctor's orders for mandatory vocal rest."

Those who bought tickets for last night's Anaheim show got hit the worst, as the announcement came right as the concert was scheduled to begin. The San Diego and Phoenix shows were scheduled for tonight and tomorrow, respectively, and there's no word yet on the rescheduled dates.

Read the rest of Monáe's heartfelt announcement below, and check out her remaining tour dates on her Zumic artist page.

To all my fandroids, electric ladies, supporters and jam lovers:
Starting today, I am under strict doctor's orders for mandatory vocal rest. Not doing so could possibly result in damage to my vocal cords.

Unfortunately, this diagnosis means I will have to postpone my coming concerts in Anaheim, San Diego and Phoenix, a fact which truly leaves me heartsick and shaken because I live for this: connecting with you and giving you a one of a kind concert experience.

But alas, apparently even the most expertly designed android breaks down sometimes and must recharge...

I promise to see you sooner than you think my friends, stronger than ever.

I love you all dearly.

My sincerest apologies.

Best,
Jane
