Janelle Monae Strikes A Pose Performing For Rebecca Minkoff's NYFW Show [YouTube Official Video]

New York's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week started this Wednesday September 5th. In celebration of the latest Spring 2014 collections, designers are becoming more creative with their runway shows.

Rebecca Minkoff enlisted singer Janelle Monae to perform during her runway show at Lincoln Center on September 6th. The performance was a part of the "American Express Unstaged." According to the YouTube description, AMEX Unstaged "pairs visionary artists to create original Live+Digital events."

Janelle Monae performed three songs in the background while Minkoff's models showcased her new collection. Monae started the party with "Dance and Die." She also performed "Tightrope" and ended the show with her single "Q.U.E.E.N," off her upcoming album The Electric Lady.

Electric Lady is out September 10th.
