The English band Little Comets has released a lyrics video for the song "Jennifer," which appears on their latest album, Life is Elsewhere. The album was released in the U.K. in October and is due for release in the U.S. in August. Bright, upbeat, and boasting a vocabulary worthy of a Victorian poet, "Jennifer" is a solid effort from a promising young band. Check out the video, via Paste.com.
According to their blog, the band had some trouble writing the lyrics for "Jennifer". At first, they struggled to "reconcile this outrageously happy melody with a dour lyric." After working intensely and getting nowhere, they decided to change their approach. "We realised that it is OK to make a song that is just nice and doesn’t try to comment on the state of life," they concluded.
Coinciding with the release of Life is Elsewhere in America, Little Comet will be coming to the U.S in August. Their tour dates are below.
