Myspace is working hard on its re-entrance into society. The former king of social networks relaunched last week as a music discovery network, and now it has signed a deal with Jimmy Kimmel Live! for exclusive rights to show performances from the late-night program for the next year.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! has always presented itself as having a strong focus on music, and they have had a large number of big acts perform on the show. They have a special stage set up outdoors for certain performances as well. But only one song or perhaps two make it onto the actual broadcast usually. Under the new deal, Myspace will have the entire concerts available on their new Jimmy Kimmel Live channel.

This special outdoor concert series will occur about once a month, though the number may increase if they are particularly successful. The first one will take place June 18 with Australian electronic duo Empire of the Sun. Known for their elaborate costumes and stage shows, this will be an impressive first show, and Myspace is probably hoping that it will be the first of many successful ones.

According to The Huffington Post, the new Myspace has only 30 million active monthly users, while Facebook has 1.1 billion and Twitter has 200 million. It's going to be a long way back to the top.
