Grateful Dead offshoot Joe Russo's Almost Dead have added another round of tour dates for 2020.
The newly announced shows will run from March to September at venues across America. The quintet — featuring Russo on drums, Marco Benevento on keys, Tom Hamilton and Scott Metzger on guitars, and Dave Dreiwitz on bass — will play a Headcount benefit show next week at Brooklyn Bowl followed by a three-night run in February at the historic Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY. The Grateful Dead played the venue 13 times from 1970 to 1971.
Formed in 2013, JRAD draws sell-out crowds by pushing the envelope of the Grateful Dead's music with inventive musical fusions and a wildly energetic approach to the generally laid back catalog. While each band member is involved in other musical projects, the group has played at least 30 concerts per year since 2015.
