The Velvet Underground released their first album on March 12, 1967. Since then, it has become a touchstone for a wide range of pop and rock music that followed.
For the 50th anniversary of the album, founding Velvet Underground member and multi-instrumentalist John Cale will present a three night celebration of the 50th anniversary of The Velvet Underground & Nico.
The concerts will take place at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) in Brooklyn, NY from November 16 to 18. For the first two nights, Cale will perform the album in its entirety, and will be joined by the Wordless Music Orchestra and "special guests" who have not been named. The third night will consist of John performing selections of songs from his lengthy career.
When do John Cale: The Velvet Underground & Nico tour tickets go on sale and what is the presale code?
The first presales are exclusively for BAM members, beginning on July 24. The general public on-sale begins August 7, 2017.

Sadly, most of the original Velvet Underground lineup — Lou Reed, Nico, and Sterling Morrison — have passed away. Aside from Cale, the only other band member still alive is drummer Moe Tucker. She declined to perform with him when he did a similar event in Paris last year because of a fear of flying, but according to Rolling Stone there is a chance she may join one of the future performances.
