New York City's rhyme-spitting, ring-blowing rapper is back with the goods. Smoke DZA, the self-proclaimed "lifestyle rapper," doesn't miss a beat on this track. "Just My Thoughts" is an introspective monologue about the hip-hop artist's life before rap, his rise to fame, and all of the perks that go along with it.
Behind Smoke DZA's smooth yet hard-hitting rhymes is the perfect melodic accompaniment. Produced by Flying Lotus, the dreamy, laid-back beat was inspired by "Getting There," a track that originally appeared on the producer's 2012 album, Until The Quiet Comes.
"Just My Thoughts" will appear on Flying Lotus' podcast, We Are Alive, at some point next week via his brand name Steve-Ography. Also stay tuned for Smoke DZA's upcoming album Dream.ZONE.Achieve, which is due out April 1st.
