Minus Light, an alternative-pop duo out of Los Angeles, California, are the latest winners of our ReverbNation contest. You can listen to their winning song, "Learning to Love," above.
Minus Light consist of Jeramy "Beardo" Gritter and Maxeene Davlin, and they make synthy, sunny music with fuzzy guitars and otherworldly atmospheres. When you first listen to them ,you think of bands like The Strokes and The Raveonettes, but they are able to maintain their own sound. The end of the song has an instrumental breakdown that gets progressively wilder and stranger. It's fascinating to listen to the song progress and change from pop to experimental all in under 5 minutes.
You can pick up their self-titled debut album, released March 13th, on their Bandcamp. For more information on Minus Light, check out their ReverbNation profile and their website. Be sure to check out Jeramy Gritter in Julian Casablancas' new band, Julian Casablancas + The Voidz. Their first album, Tyranny, is set for release September 23rd on Cult Records.
