Sleeping with Sirens released "Leave It All Behind" — the first single from their upcoming album, How It Feels To Be Lost. The song is also the first track released under the band's new record label, Sumerian Records. Listen and watch above.
"Leave It All Behind" showcases a total revamping of both the band's look and sound. Their 2017 album, Gossip, had strong pop leanings, but this new material sees Sleeping With Sirens returning to their emo and post-hardcore roots.
The release comes at the end of a dark period for vocalist Kellin Quinn, who had been struggling with alcoholism and depression. In a statement to his record label, Quinn shared, "It felt like we finally found what we were looking for with this record. The lyrics, the emotion, the musicianship, and the production are all there. It’s the best we could do. It’s going to be exciting to get on stage and perform these songs. We finally found ourselves."
The video has all the staples of a Sleeping With Sirens' classic while still honoring the emotional growth the band has gone through over the years. In Quinn's words, "I want this to be our anthem for new fans. To the diehards, we want this to do justice for you. It’s what you’ve been waiting for."
The album is scheduled for release on September 6. It will be available on Amazon and all major streaming services.
