Leon Bridges performed his first official single, "Coming Home" in a packed out tent at England's Glastonbury Festival this afternoon.
Bridges and the band's relaxing stage presence included soft swaying and expressive movements, of which the fans reciprocated. The female background harmonist, along with Bridges' graceful vocals and tasteful melodies, allows one to truly experience a modern version of the classic soul era. The video showcases all parts of the performance, but it focused primarily on the backing vocalist and Bridges. It emphasized how well their two voices compliment each other and highlighted the sweet melodic sounds.
While the song closely resembles the style of gospel soul artist Sam Cooke, it still has a fresh and unique sound to it. It was a simple performance, yet so powerful and compelling. If you like this, be sure to check out his version of "Coming Home" on The Tonight Show from earlier this week.
