Mac DeMarco | Let My Baby Stay from Canal180 on Vimeo.
Mac DeMarco has never been shy about letting his unique sense of humor pervade his music, and this clip of him performing new song "Let My Baby Stay" around Guimarães, Portugal is no exception. Watch the video, filmed in one afternoon by director Hiro Murai, above.
Taken from his upcoming album, Salad Days, "Let My Baby Stay" is a sweetly-strummed jam whose lyrics are sometimes lost in the interestingly-composed video. Following DeMarco around several different locations, we hear the song recorded live in spaces with drastically different acoustics, creating a cool, experimental collage of sorts. At one point, he stops performing the song entirely, dons a dress and plays a drum kit while standing -- just another day in the life of Mac DeMarco, it seems.
Previously, DeMarco shared the studio version of another track from Salad Days, and played a few more on a Canadian radio station. The album's due out on April 1st, and you can preorder it now from Insound. Head over to Mac DeMarco's Zumic artist page for current tour dates, as well as more music and videos.
