"Let's Make a Space Ship - Skrillex Documentary" [Official Red Bull YouTube Video]

Today, Red Bull Music has released a documentary revolving around dubstep music dynamo Skrillex, aka Sonny Moore, and his new onstage spaceship design that launched at Coachella this year. Watch above, via Red Bull Music's YouTube channel.

It's an intriguing and intimate look at one of the most controversial figures in modern music. In addition to the process of building the space ship from the preliminary design stage to fabricating and building the actual thing, we also get a look at Skrillex's management and creative team. It's a huge project, and this documentary, clocking in at 36 minutes, captures everything artfully with slick edits and lots of amazing footage.

It's especially cool to see the "mad scientists' laboratory" where they develop Skrillex's stage show, experimenting and refining the video and lighting elements as they work to create a stage show like no other. Of particular note, Skrillex spends considerable time in the documentary playing guitar from the very beginning to the very end. He also shows off his skateboarding skills, and we hear some of his philosophy about being creative and surrounding himself with creative people.
