The word "whoa" hasn't been this heavily featured since Joey Lawrence on the sitcom, Blossom. Chicago rapper Tree has released his video for his track, "Like Whoa," from his recent release, The MCTreeG EP. "Like Whoa" tells the saga of a troubled kid who grew up to find success and make his mother proud. Everyone's reaction to his success, in Tree's own words, is "like whoa." Fittingly, the video shows Tree, alone, rapping to the camera in a school yard, then in front of an office, chronicling the journey of the hero of Tree's story.

Tree is very prominent in popularizing the drill music scene in Chicago. In typical drill style, the beat of "Like Whoa" is very reminiscent of dirty south hip hop. The bass is hard hitting and the hi-hats shoot like machine guns.

You can stream the EP on Scion AV's official Soundcloud.
