Following the 25th anniversary of her debut record, Exile in Guyville, as well as the release of a fully-remastered version of the 1993 album, singer-songwriter Liz Phair will begin a spring tour later this month which has already sold out.
This week, Phair announced a 25-date 2018 fall tour across North America billed as the Amps on the Lawn Tour. Joined by a full band, Phair will traverse the Midwest and both coasts from September through October. The opening act will be Speedy Ortiz.
The singer-songwriter tweeted in March, "Girly Sound to Guyville Tour has officially SOLD OUT! Thank you all so much! ♥ I can’t wait to play these rarities and conjure the origin story of EIG on stage."
At this time, the meaning of "Amps on the lawn" is slightly mysterious, but judging from the promotional graphics (above) with the phrase "Make America Girly Again" and a bunch of speakers stacked in front of the White House, it's looking like there is going to be a political slant ahead of this year's midterm elections.
